In 2005 I (Jeff Knox) had an idea to create a short run of special knives for the hard core Hibben collectors. I teamed up with a local plater and we came up with the Bronze Edition series! I was able to create the 5 models before my plater went out of business in 2008.
All of these models had a short edition run of 15 serial numbered knives and 1 prototype and sold for an average of $450 at the time and were only available to collectors on ebay!
I designed and made all the knives, display stands and even printed the COAs and brought it all to Gil for approval and signatures.

THIS IS THE LAST OF THESE KNIVES LEFT FROM THE ORIGINAL SET OF 15 (1 prototype and 14 numbered editions) Released October 2005
As some of the collectors of Gil Hibben's knives out there know, Gil recently turned 70 years old and still goes to his shop every day and makes knives that make the rest of us want to be him. I consider myself very lucky to have been invited to Gil's house for the celebration, and that night sitting around the deck, I presented a great idea that now I am proud to share with all of the collectors I have gotten to know on the Internet.
My idea was to make a special edition knife as a thank you, specifically for and only sold to, all of the collectors on the Internet who buy, sell, trade and collect Gil's knives.
Since the highlander bowie is one of Gil's favorite knives and is one of the most popular United Hibben series knives ever made, I decided that was the perfect piece to make this special edition from. I resurface ground each knife and acid etched his logo back onto the blade, had the cross guard and pommel copper plated with a very nice bronze patina overlay and had each one engraved "GIL HIBBEN 70TH BIRTHDAY SPECIAL EDITION" and serial numbered X of 14. Each one comes with a hand made display stand which is autographed along the front edge by Gil and serial numbered to match the knife.
I only made 15, one prototype to work out the ideas and 14 in the set. The pictures on this auction are example pictures of #10.
This is the SPECIAL BRONZE EDITION GIL HIBBEN 70TH BIRTHDAY HIGHLANDER BOWIE AND AGAIN, IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO COLLECTORS ON THE INTERNET.
The reserve on this knife is set at $399.99.
These knives on auction sold on average for $450 each
