Hibben Knives Bronze Editions

One of the best things Linda ever said to me was:
“I love you, cub, if I want something actually done, I call you.”
Here’s another one of the many things I am getting done.

In 2005 Jeff Knox had an idea to create a short run of special knives for the hard core Hibben collectors, like himself.  Jeff teamed up with a local plating company and they came up with the Bronze Edition series.  Jeff was able to create the 5 models before his plater went out of business in 2008.

All of these models had a short edition run of 15 serial numbered knives and 1 prototype, and were only available to collectors on ebay!

Jeff designed the concept, disassembled, had plated, reassembled and marked the knives, designed and built the display stands and even printed the COAs and brought it all to Gil for approval and signatures.

The Following description was taken from original 2005 ebay auction listing.
“As some of the collectors of Gil Hibben’s knives out there know, Gil recently turned 70 years old and still goes to his shop every day and makes knives that make the rest of us want to be him.  I consider myself very lucky to have been invited to Gil’s house for the celebration, and that night sitting around the deck, I presented a great idea that now I am proud to share with all of the collectors I have gotten to know on the Internet.
My idea was to make a special edition knife as a thank you, specifically for and only sold to, all of the collectors on the Internet who buy, sell, trade and collect Gil’s knives.  This is the SPECIAL BRONZE EDITION IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO COLLECTORS ON THE INTERNET.”

Prior Editions – These were only available via eBay & all auctions started at $9.99 and sold on average for $450
